God’s Omniscient Wisdom vs. Man’s Infernal Confusion
Confusion is stressful, and leads to hurried and ill-formed decisions that often have detrimental effects. I don’t like being confused. I like knowing where I am, what’s going on, and how I need to proceed. I have little experience with being “dazed,” but on many occasions have been “confused.”
And yet mankind, either intentionally or unintentionally separated from God’s omniscient wisdom (cf. Psa.139:1-6; Isa.46:10), is doomed to perpetual confusion. Thus, when we either unintentionally lose or intentionally misplace the knowledge of God and His divine wisdom and will, confusion is the inevitable result. This confusion manifests itself in several separate but related forms…
Spiritual Confusion- Who/What is God? In the absence or rejection of knowledge of the one true God, man’s confusion allows him to ‘worship’ and pay obeisance to practically anything as ‘god.’ Isa.44:16-17 illustrates such futility with a man cutting down a tree and with part of it making a fire to warm himself and cook his food, “but with the rest of it he makes into a god” and “falls down before it and worships; he also prays to it and says, ‘Deliver me, for thou art my god.’” Indeed, one who rejects truth will wind up believing (and worshiping!) anything. Without knowledge of the one true God, man, in his confusion, has and will continue to “worship” anything/everything else, Rom.1:25.
Moral Confusion- Who/What is Right? In the absence or rejection of knowledge of the one true God, man’s confusion renders him unable to accurately discern “right” from “wrong,” cf. Heb.5:12-14. Without an objective and absolute standard from the omniscient God, each one winds up doing “what is right in his own eyes” (Jud.21:25), resulting in mass confusion and anarchy, and ultimately destruction, Rom.10:1-3. Think about it: Can there be any real standard of “right” and “wrong” without God? While apart from God, we may come to a general consensus regarding basic morality, but it only proves what most people consider to be “right,” not what “right” actually is.
Gender Confusion- Who/What am I? From the very beginning, God created humans as “male and female,” Gen.1:27. But what happens when mankind rejects this knowledge for his own infernal theories? Confusion results to such a degree that an individual can’t even know for sure whether they are male or female, or perhaps one of the purported other 200+ genders. Though there is tremendous pity for and even sympathy toward such surely miserable confusion and angst, I cannot truly empathize for the condition is purely resultant from the rejection of obvious and objective truth specified by God. He created us “male and female,” Matt.19:4-6.
Sexual Confusion- Who/What do I want? Confusion multiplies itself. If we reject what is revealed and can be observed about God Himself, then what is right/wrong is blurred, and even who/what I am is in doubt, how then can I possibly determine who/what (gender) I want as a mate? God’s omniscient wisdom on this point has been long disclosed by both inspired revelation and nature. God’s first codified Law specified homosexuality as an “abomination” and “detestable,” (Lev.18:22; 20:13); and the New Testament adds that it is “degrading,” “unnatural,” and “indecent,” Rom.1:26-27. So how did mankind arrive at such a confused acceptance of a practice God detests? “For they exchanged the truth of God for a lie” and “did not see fit to acknowledge God any longer,” Rom.1:25,28.
Such “confusion” is not of God who speaks only truth from omniscience, but of Satan who through lies seeks only to destroy and kill, 1Cor.14:33; John 8:44. Want confusion? Continue to reject God and His wisdom for Satan and his lies, James 3:13-16. Want knowledge and surety? Seek and turn to God and His peaceful wisdom, James 3:17-18.
